If arts and culture is what you’re looking for, Muskegon can deliver. The city boasts a collection of nearly 60 works of public art in the downtown area alone, the first work dating back to 1892, with the most recent installed in 2022!
This guided tour includes viewing many of these works of art, and provides the history of each piece. Learn about the origins, artists, subject matter, and medium/material.
You will learn the history of Muskegon through the stories of the art pieces on public display. Also learn about the ongoing efforts of the Muskegon City Public Art Initiative, whose efforts have resulted in 10 new works of monumentally scaled public art.
Also available is a tour of the Frauenthal Center and Theater, the Moorish or Spanish renaissance architectural style building and theater. This stunning theater should not be missed.
